From PerlNet
The Open Source Developers' Club is an meta-organisation. It exists to discuss topics and bring together developers from all open source development languages, including Perl, Python, and PHP within Melbourne.
Meetings are held every second month although the actual date, time and venue varies depending on which user group is hosting it. See the website for details of the next meeting.

History
After a very successful Open Source Developers Conference in 2004, there was a call for more regular meetings between the Perl, Python, PHP and other open source developers in Melbourne. With enthusiasm from Anthony Baxter (Python programmer), Jon Oxer (Linux Australia President and PHP Programmer), Ben Balbo (Melbourne PHP User Group President) and Scott Penrose (Melbourne Perl Mongers president) this became a reality on the 9th March 2005.
