PerlNet:Beta phase
From PerlNet
The PerlNet beta phase lasted from Februrary 2005 to 9th January 2006. During the beta phase, editors were guided by the following rules:
- Be bold in your edits. This site is a wiki, and it will only achieve its goal with the support of an active community. If you see something that you feel should be added, improved, or fixed, then just do it. Don't be timid, don't ask for permission, and don't worry about breaking things. The software makes it easy to correct changes and communicate ideas should it be necessary.
- Do not publicise PerlNet. This may seem like a strange request, but we really do want to get the site up to scratch before becoming well-known to the community. Potential contributors and users may never return to PerlNet if they find the site incomplete on their first visit. Feel free to mention PerlNet to specific friends who you think may be interested, but please avoid write-ups in mailing lists, user groups, blogs, journals, newspapers, use.perl, slashdot, or other publications.
During the beta stage we encourage you to create an account before editing. This makes it easier for contributors to communicate with each other, as well as to track changes to the site. Creating an account also has many advantages, you can maintain your own user page, customise your settings, and maintain your own watchlist of pages that you care about.
If you have not already done so, you may also wish to read the Frequently Asked Questions regarding this site.
Thank-you for taking the time to visit and contribute to PerlNet. With your help, we can make PerlNet a great resource and community for the Asia-Pacific region.
