PerlNet:Editing guidelines

Signatures

Article contributions should remain unsigned when possible. Signing of content can discourage others from editing it, as out of politeness many users will not touch content that appears to be 'owned'. While this is very courteous, it is rarely healthy for the article in the long-term.

Comments upon articles (in talk/discussion pages), or messages on user-talk pages, should always be signed. These are almost always personal opinions or messages, and signatures are completely appropriate.

Article Comments

Article comments should be directed to the talk or discussion page attached to each article, and should not be included in the main text. While articles are always in a state of improvement, they should strive to be as 'polished' as possible.

It is acceptable to use <!-- HTML comments --> to add in-line comments and questions to an article text. These will only be seen by editors. You may wish to note your question or comment on the talk page as well.

Default Policy

When no other guideline exists, the policies and guidelines of wikipedia should be used as a guide and inspiration.
