PerlNet:How to edit a page

From PerlNet

Jump to: navigation, search

PerlNet is a wiki. This means that everyone can edit (almost) any page they have access to, and see those changes immediately. We encourage you to be bold in your edits. Don't be scared of making mistakes, they're easy to fix. If you accidently remove the content of a page, feel free to revert to a previous version by using the revision history interface.

Editing a PerlNet page is very easy. Simply click on the "edit" tab at the top of the page (or on a section-edit link). This will bring you to a new page with a text box containing the editable text of the original page. Make your changes, add a short summary in the box, and hit "Show preview". This will allow you to check that your changes look okay. Once you're happy, hit "Save page" and you're done. Now your changes will be available to everyone.

If you have some thoughts about a page, that you'd like to share with others, add them to the "discussion" page. To get to that, click on the "discussion" tab at the top of the page. This is a good place to discuss breaking the article into separate pieces, combining the article with another, suggesting alternate solutions to a problem and so on.
