Community Portal redesign

Presently the community portal is a question-and-answer area. I'm looking at moving this to a different page entirely (similar to Wikipedia's Village Pump), and replacing the portal with an index of resources. Mailing lists, things to be done, local communities, IRC channels, ongoing projects, and so on.

Printing out system environment variables

Hello all, I haven't posted anything on this site before but I do program in Perl and wish to further my skills as time passes by.

I have query and I noticed this while completing a Win32 Perl script forr work. I'm trying to print out a common system environment variable '%SystemRoot%_System32_cmd.exe' but it wont work and receive "ystemRoot_System32_cmd.exe".

Anyone have any thoughts on this, it's probably something small but the log has to be correct?
