I turned up to Melbourne Perl Mongers for the first time on 18 Jan 2006. It's been a while since I met anyone who really used Perl for their Day job or loved the language.

Perl was the first language I used in my career since I started working in '98. Started off doing Intranet and Internet development stuff hacking at other peoples perl scripts. Perl is probably the most comfortable language for me to code in, although for my job I have had to use Java, Ruby (Rails Pilot for the hell of it), Shell scripts and mucking with makefiles and C.

While I am not doing my day job, I also write ecclectic drivel at [brooders.net]
