You can also sign your name on talk and discussion pages by using three tildes, like this: ~~~. Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date, and there is also a signature button in the editing pane for this purpose.

A big thank-you for spotting and reverting the link spam. It's very much appreciated; it's good to know that PerlNet was kept in good hands while I've been away this last week.
I've set set the sysop flag on your account. You'll find that you now have a range of superpowers that include protecting pages, editing restricted content, blocking users, and a quick 'rollback' feature that makes it much easier to revert vandalism.
